CWYM Joining pic 1Joining the CWYM couldn’t be simpler! New members are welcome throughout the year; however there is an enrolment session when all CWYM members re-join for the new season.

The 2010-11 enrolment day is on October 2nd 2010 from 9.30-10.45 am. (Rehearsals to follow).

- Membership for one term is £60
- Membership for three terms is £140*

* payable only at the beginning of the season.

There are 10 weeks of rehearsals with a concert at the end of each term. Theory classes are included in the membership fee and CWYM members are welcome to join as many ensembles/classes as they can fit into their morning.

At a cost of between £4.60 - £6 per week and providing up to 3 hours of music making, it is easy to see what good value training the CWYM offers.

When you join the CWYM you automatically become a part-time student at The College (Bournemouth and Poole College). The College provides the accommodation and the staff for the Centre.

The CWYM rehearsal venues were originally part of a complex of buildings forming a local branch of the Doctor Banardo’s Homes. As you move around The College site, you can still see parts of its history – not least St. Andrew’s Hall (home of the Wessex Youth Orchestra), formerly St. Andrew’s Chapel, used in the past by the Doctor Banardo’s boys for their church services on Sundays.

It seems fitting that a venue originally built to provide young people with a better education and future, continues to do so well into the 21st century, providing accommodation not only for CWYM members but also for the full-time students at The College during the week.
